I made it! After long flight from Burlington, VT that was delayed by the way, making a 'short' stop (6hours) on JFK waiting for my plane, ending in Budapest after 8 hours (by the way next time I'm NOT flying from or to Buda, sorry!), waiting for my family to pick me up, than driving 2 hours back to Slovakia, stopping for food in a Hungarian restaurant, stopping to say hi to my Grandparents, and finally getting to my house after 7 hours and not able to fall a sleep till 3 am. To make it short my 'one' day of traveling was very long. It is always weird to be back after such a long time and without my favorite companion on my trips:))). I miss United States so much and you too hun, of course!!! But, I guess I am happy being home at least for a while and eat some home food. Oh, I missed Slovak food like 'halusky' and our bread and sheep cheese and 'Horalky' and cabbage soup and... . Well, the food sounds weird but it is the best tasting food in the world at least for me :). And, I can't forget my family and my dogs that I missed even more than food, surprisingly :))))

Finally, it's Friday and that means one step from the weekend! Well, for most of the people it means being close to no-hassle time. For me it means finishing packing Darren's and my stuff and out we are on the way to airport to catch a plane to Vermont. Quickly saying good bye to Detroit, I will miss you town! Well, lets say I will miss some parts like the big tree in front of our house, pastry shop down our block (Tiramisu there is just amazing), the park just across the road, haunted houses, the biggest mall I ever seen ( let's say one of the big one and as usually I did not have enough time for it), Sleeping bear dunes (they were in a different town in MI but that doesn't matter)... and so much more. I guess you can find a lot of good about this place. I can't say I am a fan of Detroit but a lot of good happened while we were here. So, I guess there is not really a reason to complain:)).

I'm a bad person and a bad blogger. I don't have time for one of the things that I like the most... like writing on my blog and enjoy creative time with my stash. It took me a while to come back and post something and I apologize for my slow moves. My friend told me if I want her to visit my blog I need to be more active and she is right:) So, I am trying to do my best and post something once a while. I wish I could find time to post something every day. I have a lot of material that is waiting to be seen:)) But, as you know probably yourself there are always other more important things to do. Don't get me wrong. Blogging is really important but I finish one thing and 1000 of others are waiting for me.
But, enough of complaining and back to really important stuff like spending time with writing about crafty me:) How about some October leaves? You must admit that fall is gorgeous!!! So many colors and the great fresh breeze and smell of fall!!! I wish I had my dogs here in Michigan (where I currently live) with me to take a walk trough the forest now.

Here we go again - another Birthday! This time it was my boss - Ann, at the family resort I worked so many summers in the row, including this last one. I really enjoyed it! But, I promised to myself that this is the last one... for now (at least for this month). The framed picture and card on the pictures below were actually made a while ago. My friend at the camp, Veronika, took a picture with her camera (because I forgot mine) and I just got those pics recently. Ann loves fabric crafting and she does terrific patchwork creations. Therefore, I decided to make her a card with a sewing detail.
I actually worked on this card during my work... it wasn't that busy (I hope my boss is not reading this):)). It was pretty fun project and I think I might use this effect again on some other project, perhaps a pillow. I think it would look fantastic on a white pillow... hmm... green circles on a snowy white fabric... I like that idea:)))
The turquoise treads I used were on sale. They were like 10 cents a piece at the patchwork store in Center Harbor, NH. I love that store, so much cool stuff on sale for nothing! I really like the final look of the card looking little bit like an embroidery and that I think fits Ann completely.
Also, Veronika and me, we found this wonderful wooden frame for Ann. And, because it felt so empty without any picture in it, I decided to add one. I was inspired by Patricia Zapata, a great graphic designer whose artwork I really admire. All her paper creations look so easy first to make but in the reality it was pretty challenging to cut all those trees and all those branches I designed... way too many branches! But, all this sweat and hard work was worth. Luv ya Ann, see you soon in Prague!!!

It is October and that means... Pumpkiiiiin carviiiiing!!! And because, we live in a house for now, I can put couple self-carved pumpkins with tea candles in it out of the front door. Scaaaary!!!I love to carve pumpkins. What can be better to do in fall?! Carving pumpkins is the priority, before apple picking, corn-mazes, and collecting autumn leaves. It is a dirty job and I hate to get all the guts out but even they can be useful. All the salty baked pumpkin seeds and the smell of roasted pumpkin pieces, hmmm... yummy!!! I love to carve different creatures like mice for example to make it more interesting:)). So, you can guess, which piece is mine and which belongs to Darren. He's so proud of it and keeps on nagging me how better his pumpkin is than mine:))) See for yourself...
