Leaving for London today:))) I will post some pics when I come back. Have a great weekend everybody!!!
Here we go, the day of the days - Christmas is finally HERE!!! I just wanted to wish you all an absolutely wonderful Christmas! Enjoy the holiday as much as you can and eat as much you want:))) Merry Christmas to you!!!
I have a great news for you but first of all I wanna mention how happy and relieved I am that I am done with all the Christmas mailing! Remember those last 3 envelopes waiting on my table for proper addresses, they are on the way now! I mailed them on Friday ( I didn't make it on Thursday, I wish!) this time from our small post office down in the town because I though it will be less busy. Guess what?! I almost turned back just because there was like 50 people waiting in the line but I had to send them because Friday was already late (Again!!! I think I need to start with Christmas cards little bit earlier, he-he). So, I overcome my antipathy of standing in lines and stayed:((
The funny thing was that my poor dog was waiting outside the post-office dragging the bike-stand around to which I tide him up checking every person coming out of the building looking for me (I didn't know he is that strong, it was a metal one too!!!). I guess it was kinda scary for the people because I have a German Shepard - so, you can imagine:))) But, he is a great dog and he would not harm anybody (well, tell that to those people looking at enormous dog dragging a metal rack around checking and sniffing on everybody:)))
The 2nd reason I am happy is that Darren is finally here!!! He came yesterday and we though he's gonna be stuck in New York for a while because of a big storm coming that way. I guess he came on time because around 600 flights where canceled leaving from JFK that evening. We already managed to go to the Christmas market to get some Gypsies liver in a bun, poppy pancakes, and cooked wine (yummy!!!). Don't worry it is not real Gypsies liver:))) just a piece of grilled chicken or pork with grilled onions wrapped in a piece of bread ( I could kill for that food and Darren too!).
So, back to the news I actually wanted to write about. I had first 2 official orders for my tags and cards!!! Isn't that exciting! Well, I got one from my own mother for her flower stores but hey, I get paid for that:))). So, that one was an order for 50 Christmas tags and couple cards. The 2nd one was for a friend of my friend (ha-ha) and it was exactly 11 Christmas tags. Here are couple pictures...

Finally, my pile of handmade Christmas cards got bigger and most of them are even sent, hurray!!! Just tree cards are on 'the hold it' pile just because I lost some addresses. It is very sad I know:(. But, the rest is on its way, which is a good news:). Don't you think? Well, at least it is a good one for me because I really hate to send stuff.
Don't get me wrong. I love to make cards and give it to the people but I hate to go to the post office just because they give me hard time every time I go. Either, I can't send a red envelope (their post office code is red or something like that) or I have to write the address only in black or blue ink ( I wrote it once in gold ink), or I have a weird shape of envelope (excuse me, I made it by myself!). I just want to send my own special card but their don't allowed me that (what a shame!).
And the lines! Soooo looooong... The lines at the post office are incredibly long, which drives me crazy. I know it is Christmas time, and everybody wants to send their cards and packages but I hate to wait in the line! You know the feeling when you choose a line that seems shorter and after a while you realize the guy in the line next to you who actually came after you is already by the window sending his pile of Christmas cards and you have like 5 people in front of you!!! Not fair and sooo painful!!! Or a lady in front of you just got like 100 envelopes out of her plastic bag. What a nightmare! Ok, enough complaining:)))
Here are additional cards I created. I really enjoyed the previous project with the sewed star and tree. So, I decided to do additional cards in that spirit. I got practice and my fingers didn't get that many stabbings from the needle like before (still I wish I could find a thimble in this house ).
Here are my stars! I add couple beats this time to make it more interesting and also different. I used also Pritt foam double side tape because the tread, this time gold, is thicker and was making bubbles. The foam tape makes the star to come forward nicely.
And, here are my trees. I also made them little bit special and I add a trunk. I made a different one on each card to add a little bit of extra:))), just a little bit. Also, I used a little bit of pigment ink on the edges of the orange squares on which I sewed the trees - bronze ink one on the light green and gold on the darker green card. The gold frame is no that visible though.
I also found this wooden stars on the Christmas market again and couldn't resist to use them, again:), like in my previous Lantern card project. I just love these ornaments so much and I have to confess that I bought more than one:)))) but those will be saved for the next Christmas season. I am starting to think about making my own wooden stars but I guess that would be too much work for me:)))

We are celebrating the St.Lucia's day today and also my name day as we celebrate our names here in Slovakia. I love this tradition just because there is another good reason to get presents in the year, he-he. But, St. Lucia's day is also a day for many different prophecies, it brings also many traditions, and many people still today use rituals that were common in the times when people believed in witchcraft. I can't decide which legend I should believe more - either that St. Lucia was a witch or she was the patron saint of light with beautiful eyes. I am going for beauty-eye:))). If you want to know more about our St. Lucia traditions just click here for more interesting, little bit weird, and scary details:)))
Here is a video of typical traditions in Slovakia. On this day, three crosses were made with garlic - first on the door, second on the forehead, and the third on the chest. The girls dressed in white, covering their faces, walked through the village in pairs. One girl had a brush and the other one a goose feather. When they reached a house, without a word, they dusted the furniture, swept the corners and the stove. This was the way how to cast away bad powers and kept away bad luck for the whole year.

I FELL IN LOVE! Don't worry honey, I am still adoring you (just in case, if Darren is reading it, haha). I just got new phone this week and I am so trilled about it! No iPhone and no Omnia for me as I though first but it is still Samsung, Smg Touchwiz. Everything is so cool about it, much cheaper, and the best thing is that it has a 5mgp camera (as if I need new camera, haha). But also, another super-duper thing is that my new baby has a touchable screen. Lovable this little machine! The screen has already couple apricot jam prints on it (couldn't take my hand away during the lunch, sorry). I even sleep with it and play games in late night because I can't stop to try out the touchable screen. I am weird, I know:) But, you have to understand, this is my 1st new phone after six long years having the same old device!!! The technology changed you know:))
I finished my another Christmas card project. Can cross number ... let me see ... number 6, yippee!!! But my list got longer and I end up with number 14 instead of 10, which means that I have to do 8 more cards! Better to start now:)).
I really, really like this card. It is my favorite and one of my favorite people will get it, one of Darren's colleges. It's actually on its way already:). This was kinda easy project to do too. I did the same as in the previous card with the tree embroidery and beats. I also made a pattern, this time of a star but didn't use any beats. I think it would be to much. I kept it simple. That's the way I like it:))

I did it again! I am in a sketch challenge over at Cat's Creations. I am starting to like this stuff more and more. It is really a challenge. First, it looks so easy to follow a sketch than after 2 ruined papers and used glue and I don't know what else, you started to be a little bit dramatic, maybe little cry!!! Well, no crying but a lot of drama that's for sure, and you should see the mess on my table! But, here is the outcome. I hope you like it because if not I'll start to cry. Just kidding:)))
Here is my latest project for St. Nicholas day. I showed you my cone calendar before and I decided to make a stocking as well. And here is is white one with pink and turquoise ribbon flowers and buttons. Cute! The funny part was that I bought a chocolate box before I made the stocking and didn't think how big the box is. It didn't fit into the little stocking at all, haha. At least I decorated the top of the box. We learn something new everyday.
My pile of Christmas cards is getting bigger, hurray!!! I am really glad about that. Hope fully I will be able to send it on time:)). But, I found out just recently that I have to add couple new people on my Christmas card list so I have to be more active and quicker. Well, that doesn't sound like me:)).
This was another hand-sewing project. I am starting to like it more and more (I definitely need new sewing machine though). I saw a similar project but i can't remember where and I also did something similar before while ago with a different pattern, made a star with a gold tread on a red paper. Nice contrast that was looking good and the colors created a festive look but never finished the project. I have to go back to that sometimes and I will try to post it later.
I like how these cards came out. First, I cut out a pattern to make sure that all the holes are in a pretty line. Than I punched each hole through the pattern on the card with a needle. This was the hardest part, where the sewing and adding the beats was fun, fun, fun:)))

Here we go, another Christmas card is born! If I count right this must be number three. I prefer simplicity and this project was pretty simple and easy to do. Well, it would be easy if my old sewing machine isn't driving me crazy ( I really need to buy a new one). This was my first project where I used sewing effect and it is visible, the lines are not straight at all:). But, a new sewing machine would definitely help, maybe...
Katarina is celebrating her 10th anniversary with her fiancée on Thursday Dec. 4th and she is spreading love through candy giveaway!!!. Her candy starts out with a PB clear hedgie stamp. She will add a little something more to the candy for every comment she receives on her candy post. Check out here for more details.
Here we go, my Christmas card number two. I can't believe I'm on #2 and 'only' eight are left to do. Oh well, what can we do. I was born slow:)). But, this creation is very special to me, especially the reindeer. It is a 3D reindeer made by Pebeo 3D paint with metal touch. Lovely thing! I didn't know that this paint is so cool, way too cool. It was laying around at least for a year and I didn't know what a treasure I own! It was fun to add an actual shape to the little deer.
I used the sketch above from Debbie and now I'm entering the card to her blogcandy challenge. This was the first time I ever used a sketch for my cards and it was very fun project to do. Will see how successful will it be in the challenge.

Remember Marianne's challenge? Well, it's time that I finally show you my piece. This is my first LO page so be kind:))). It was a tough job, not sure if I am a good LO designer but I will get better along the way... at least I hope.
The picture is from a collection of photos that I collected during my high school years everytime I needed a new bus ID. I had to choose the least embarrassing shot, ha-ha. The note is from my high school memory stash that I keep in a shoe box. It is actually a love letter to one of my classmates (I won't tell who) that he never got, thanks God! Very embarrassing letter but I laugh a lot when I was reading it after years.
