Now, I have to finish packing because I am off to a friends cottage, by a lake. So, I believe we will have a blast. Well, at least we hope we will, if the rain stops:) Be back on Monday!

I made my first cheesecake... with Slovak ingredients. The outcome... well... it was tasting good but different. Of course I forgot the graham crackers. So, I had to go back to grocery store and than I figure out that we don't have a regular cake pan. So, big baking pan where we usually bake a duck or goose it was:) At least the strawberries are growing close in our garden.
And, yes I played with the photoshop again:)
A while ago I made this little table display for a baby shower of one of my friends. I already presented the wrapping style last weekend and now I'll show you the whole party picture. This is how was everything presented to my friend, even with couple flowers... everything in girly tones... everything in style. This was my 2nd diaper cake and I had much-much better outcome this time. This one was also much more bigger as more diapers were involved in this project and also some alcohol. Before you ask questions I explain... the cake is hiding a big rosa champaign bottle for the proud parents. My previous cake was little bit lame because it was hiding just couple baby bottles in there:) I told you... lame! From now I'm hiding only spirits in there to give little surprise to the exhausted parents who can enjoy an evening with a nice glass of vine or good old cognac.

Also, to explain the weird picture look... now that's me playing with layers and textures in Photoshop a little bit. I wanted to make the pics looking more interesting. I hope it worked:) Have a great week!

You know the situation... you went to the sea for vacation and brought a lot of souvenirs from the beautiful beach. And, what now to do with all the cute little seashells? Some simple seashell decoration might be helpful. It could be a nice visible memory of the great time spent together with your family and friends. You can use hot glue gun to attach the shells to the candle or just lay them against the candle and use a different theme like dried out leaves for the fall season. Have fun!
You might remember (or maybe not) my pen holders from one of the September blog update - dressing up the can - last year while living in Denver. I saved some paper leftovers from that project and new empty cans and I decided to make couple cans for our kitchen tools in RI. I even kept one can with the original label from the chicken noodle soup. It just looks good and it reminds me on Andy Warhol.

Last weekend was my first planned photo shooting and we didn't enjoy it that much:) It was 5 in the afternoon and still 95 degrees! I was covered in sweat and Martina posing for the pictures was even worse covered in couple layers of fabric (hiding a swimsuit underneath though). Her wedding was last summer but she didn't have chance to get some picks with her horses Mamba. So, I was asked to take couple shoots. So, I did and this is the outcome. Let me know what you think...
I made one... my first pillow and it wasn't even that hard as I expected to be. I actually had fun. I used my old pair of jeans that just begged for a new life and needed to become something more useful. So, they become a nice pillow. And, I also have a new pair of shorts that I'll never wear because my butt is peaking out:)
It's time to learn a new one. I don't need to mention the pink tissue paper but I just did. On the top I'm using a piece of scrap from a previous project making own wrapping paper. Yes, I saved the scraps... I just knew I will need them later. Happy wrapping!
I came across this page a while ago and thought I would share it with you as well. They always make my day and I wish I could see them in real some day causing scene:)

These are couple pictures from the last stay in RI, one of the many great places I enjoyed to be. You can see what I did while D was working on his campaign and yes, I'm standing on the table:)
I played little bit with setting a table and because my resources where quite small I was using what was in the kitchen brought by previous visitors and couple flowers that I 'stole' on my walks. Napkin ring is made from separate lilac flowers put on a piece of tread to match the flower decoration in the vase.
Wow, it's too hot in Slovakia today and I'm starting to think that having an AC would be a great idea! Or, I wish I could just jump into our pool that is unfortunately occupied by fishes. Don't even ask how did they get there:) I don't know what we will do during the weekend when the weather forecast says - tropical heat - up to 37 degrees celsius. I guess we have to move to the basement eventually. It's nice down there, little bit dark but nicely cold:)
Today, I made a butterfly wreath full of colors. I did couple more creative things as well but lets leave that for the next posts. I wish we had such pretty colored butterflies here in real to take pictures of them. All you need for this project is scissors, drawing-compass, piece of cardboard and couple feather butterflies (I'm using twelve pieces in six different colors).
Here is a little picture tutorial for you. It is very simple to make this wreath and it took me literally five minutes to finish. I used butterflies with a plastic hair clip on the back, which made it easy to attach to the paper base. But, you can use glue if there is no clip or if they have a wire just wrap it around the cardboard frame. I made little cut outs into the cardboard circle for each butterfly. Have fun with the butterflies!
I found out that you can make anything out of a seashell... like a frame or decorate a present... or a simple napkin holder. I found a double shell ideal for holding something. And, because the pearl was already taken, I just stuffed it with a napkin:) So much for living so close to the sea and keeping every treasure that it spits out. I'm too much under the influence of the the area and my collectivism as well.
